To further prototype several design features planned for a future project, I built two static display models that focused on testing specific concepts and construction methods.
Tilt Track Element
The purpose of this model was to test the mechanical design and control of a moving track section. In particular, I focused on the alignment between the train's entry and exit points. While the alignment results were not satisfactory, constructing this model helped identify the tools and methods needed to achieve more precise alignment in future projects.
In addition, I continued to experiment with the visual design of the track by incorporating catwalks and modifying the crosstie pattern to more closely resemble real-world coaster track designs.

Suspended Inverting Element
The purpose of this model was to test a new track-to-track connection method. In previous models, track sections were aligned using the supports and then glued together. For this model, the track sections were connected using bolts instead. While this improved alignment between pieces, many of the track sections became overconstrained, making the model too rigid. This connection method will be revised in future designs.
The model measures 4 ft × 1 ft × 2 ft and contains just over 125 components.
